Junsheng Shi and Conor Shatto presented a poster on Alfredo Spagna's SOLER-supported project at Data Science Data 2022.

Hosted by Columbia's Data Science Institute (DSI), Data Science Day provides a forum for innovators in academia, industry, and government to connect. The April 6th, 2022 hybrid event included two keynote addresses, a series of faculty-led lightning talks, and an in-person poster session on Columbia’s Morningside campus. Two students, Junsheng Shi (DSI) and Conor Shatto (SPS), who are members of Alfredo Spagna's SOLER-supported research team, presented a poster on the project at the event.

SOLER Program Director Adam Brown presented at the "STEM Instructional Innovations Necessitated by COVID-19: Evolution of Processes Post Pandemic" PKAL conference virtually hosted by Coppin State University in March 2022.  

Adam highlighted SOLER's work with PSSG faculty awardee Brent Stockwell (Biological Sciences) on the implementation of virtual reality in biochemistry education. SOLER faculty committee member and PSSG awardee Brent Stockwell presented his work on the use of virtual reality in undergraduate biochemistry at the inaugural Schrödinger Educator's Day, a virtual event held in July 2021.

Pandemic Pedagogy Research Symposium

SOLER Program Director Adam Brown presented at the 2021 Pandemic Pedagogy Research Symposium virtually hosted by Duke University.  

Adam highlighted SOLER's work with 2020 PSSG faculty awardee Brent Stockwell (Biological Sciences): developing a framework for enhancing student learning and engagement in undergraduate biochemistry through virtual reality.
